July 2024, Sopilka ensemble members travelled to Croatia for an amazing trip filled with fun, laughter and friendships!

We sincerely thank all those who purchased tickets in support of our school.  We truly appreciate it.

In July 2023, our Spadok Ensemble was able to travel again and had the adventure of a lifetime in Brazil!

A staple in our yearly fundraisers, for as long as we can remember and definitely a favourite, is our cheese, kulbasa and perogy fundraiser.  

We are proud to use local business, Bothwell Cheese, Central Meats & Helen's Perogies, as our suppliers!

Sopilka is extremely proud to take part in the annual MUDF.  Sopilka has taken the trophy for Highest Scoring School four consecutive years as well as Adjudicators Choice, Hopak, solo, duet and trio top awards.  We couldn't be more proud of our dancers!  

Every February, Sopilka holds an annual Zabava! This amazing event showcases all dancers, a dinner and silent auction.  The best part of the night is when the band starts to play and we dance the night away, complete with Kolomeyka and late lunch!  

Each year, Sopilka is proud to be a part of Folklorama by preforming at the, very popular, Ukraine-Kyiv Pavilion !

Sopilka's Performing Ensemble has travelled every second year to Ukraine to take part in the International Ukrainian Dance & Culture Festival in Lviv, Ukraine as well as a tour of other regions in Ukraine  with Cobblestone Freeway Tours.  The dancers take part in workshops, which include Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company!  

We have made many trips abroad, but have also traveled within Canada to attend various workshops and competitions.

For our 50th Anniversary (2021), we held a Cash Calendar Raffle!  Every day in February 2021, there were daily draws for cash prizes, totalling $2,500.00.
